Teton-Village
is a community or village (census-designated place) located 12 miles northwest of the city of Jackson at the base of the Jackson Hole Mountain Resort. As of the 2010 census, the population was 330 residents. Teton Village is part of the Jackson, Wyoming-Idaho Micropolitan Statistical Area. It's accessed via WY Route 390 and sits at the base of the 10,539-foot Rendezvous Peak. The Jackson Hole Mountain Resort is a ski resort located due south of Grand Teton National Park and named after the well-known and historical Jackson Hole Valley. Teton Village, known by locals as "the Vil," is a Swiss-style village that is one of the state's most scenic and most popular four-season recreational areas. Its' most identifiable landmark is a 100-foot tall clock tower at the Valley Station of the two and one-half mile, 63-passenger aerial tram. Teton Village has everything one would expect to find in a tourist ski village; gift shops, après-ski bars, ski and snowboard shops, restaurants, coffee shops and espresso stands, lodging options and much more. In addition to skiing, there is snowmobiling, dog sledding, snowshoeing and snowboarding. In summer, Teton Village offers swimming pools, float trips, horseback riding, hiking, golf, paragliding, fishing, hot-air balloon rides and tramway summer sightseeing trips. It's not just a ski resort, but truly a four-season vacation family-fun destination.

Southeastern Idaho has a unique four-season climate. The area's precipitation is approximately 20-30 inches, which is among the highest in southern Idaho. This unusually high precipitation is due to the unique geography of southern Idaho and Yellowstone. The Snake River Plain was formed by the Yellowstone hot spot across southern Idaho, and it forms a moisture channel that extends from the Pacific Ocean to Yellowstone area. This southeastern corner at the head of the Snake River Plain and at the end of the Yellowstone moisture channel gets as much snow as the typical ski towns of Colorado. In contrast, summers are hot and humidity is low throughout the state. Occasionally, moisture-laden air from the south produces thunderstorms.
