Glendo is a small community located in Platte County in southeastern Wyoming. As of the 2010 census, the population was 205 residents. The town was incorporated in 1922 and the California Trail, Oregon Trail and Mormon Trail all pass just south of Glendo. Today, the community of Glendo's motto is "Small in Number, but Big in Heart." It's a friendly place, and a great place for both families and visitors. The town is near Glendo State Park, which is one of several state parks along the North Platte River in this section of Wyoming. The park surrounds Glendo Reservoir, a popular recreational lake for fishing and camping. Glendo is one of the largest reservoirs in Wyoming (when full.) Also, the Laramie Peak Area of the Medicine Bow National Forest is just a short drive, so the recreational activities in the area are virtually endless. Glendo can be reached along I-25, about one hundred miles north of Cheyenne. The Glendo Airport is suitable for small, private aircrafts. The town is home to a school, Senior Center and Senior Housing, a library, several churches, four motels, two convenience stores, a gas station, four restaurants, a beauty salon, post office, a marina, boat storage units, and boat repair garages.
